Episode 57 – Dusk Music Festival with Page Repp

Dusk is that magical time when day turns to night, everything comes alive and the desert changes. That’s how Page Repp describes how he, and the other founders, came up with the name for Tucson’s newest musical Festival. And now, after 2 successful years, the organizers of the Dusk Music Festival have chosen to move the event downtown. Next weekend, November 10th and 11th, Armory Park will be host to this collection of musicians, and the cultural entourage which follows.

Page has a background in as a DJ, plus a love for music. We sat down to talk about how Dusk came to be and what makes this festival so special for Tucson.

When they asked, Page said yes. Before he even knew what kind of music or the details of the festival plan, he said yes because he wanted to be a part of something special in Tucson. A lot of times on this show our guests talk about the need to keep our UofA talent in Tucson after graduation and this is an example of what we, as a cultural community, may have lost if Page had chosen to leave Tucson after graduation.

Now, he is adding something special which may be the catalyst to keeping more talent in town.
